Are you excited?! And maybe, just maybe, the sun will continue to keep visiting us! My goal is to be able to send more updates about Creekside Kids to volunteers. We are using a new email platform and this allows me to send emails out in an easier fashion. If you are getting this, that means you either served in the past month, are scheduled in the next few months, or you serve in a position that needs to know all the ins-and-outs of Creekside Kids. # **Update #1: Admin Assistant** The time has come! 😊 If you’ve asked me about your name tag over the last month or so, you probably received a handwritten one with the promise that a printed one was coming once Creekside hired an admin assistant. Well… soon you’ll have your name tag! Last Thursday, Creekside Church hired several administrative assistants, and Creekside Kids and Welcome Ministries will be sharing one assistant. She will work 10 hours a week for Kids and 10 hours a week for Welcome Ministries. Please welcome Erin Crum, who officially steps into this role on Monday, June 1 — just in time for VBS! Some of Erin’s main responsibilities initially will include: • Scheduling and maintaining monthly serving patterns • Creating and organizing name tags • Curriculum prep and helping finalize materials in a timely manner What this means for Creekside Kids volunteers: • You’ll begin seeing communication from Erin at [erin.crum@creeksideak.com](mailto:erin.crum@creeksideak.com) and/or something like [kids@creeksideak.com](mailto:kids@creeksideak.com) (both will be created next week) • Scheduling communication will happen more through email/Planning Center Services and less through text messages from me • Erin attends Creekside on Sundays, but she works Monday–Thursday, so if you have scheduling or name tag questions, please email her or leave a note with the Check-In Desk host If you already have Erin’s phone number, please avoid texting her about work-related subjects. Email will be her primary work communication so she can fully be off the clock when she’s home with her three busy kids. I am still available by phone! However, if your question relates to scheduling, name tags, or curriculum prep, emailing Erin directly will usually be the best route. For last-minute serving cancellations (happening Thursday evening through Sunday morning), please continue to: 1. Decline your position in Planning Center Services 2. Text me directly We’ve used Planning Center Services for years and this next season of growth means we’ll be relying on it even more. Soon you will see a few "Service Coaches" serving. They will be problem solvers with me on Sundays. Their tasks will be checking in with rooms and volunteers on Sunday, figuring out subbing needs, and handling any issues that may come up (including the "Can this child attend class with their best friend?"). I will still be around on Sunday mornings and still doing the same tasks as above. However, having Service Coaches allow every volunteer to be connected to in a meaningful way, every family greeted, and every issue handled well. It also allows for there to be help for everyone when I am teaching, if I am on the main side of the building, or if I am out. A service coach is a problem solver and an additional face of Creekside Kids leadership. They will interact with all teams during the service they are scheduled for. A team lead is a team builder and a service coach. The team lead is not handling scheduling, but should be connecting with you, praying for you, and helping build consistency in routines/policies within a team. - Courtney Sanderlin - Early Childhood Team Lead (Little Lupine, Honeybees Toddlers, Rainbow Preschool) & Service Coach - Kayla Gehrke - Elementary Team Lead (Fireweed, Trees, and Mountains) & Service Coach - Elise Manolas - Service Coach All those serving as a team lead or a service coach will be a part of the leadership team of Creekside Kids, which speaks life and direction into the ministry of Creekside Kids.
