Upcoming Sermon
What do you do when you desperately want something to change—but you can’t control what happens next?
This Sunday, Pastor Mike continues After God’s Heart by following two men through the same kind of pressure—and watching their hearts move in opposite directions.
Saul becomes consumed with controlling what he is losing. Jealousy grows into fear, fear into anger, and anger into destruction.
David has just as little control over his circumstances. He can’t stop Saul from pursuing him. He can’t force God’s promise to happen faster. He can’t determine when the waiting will end.
But he can choose obedience.
And when Saul finally walks vulnerable into the very cave where David is hiding, David has the opportunity to seize the outcome for himself. Instead, he refuses to take into his own hands what belongs in God’s.
So what are you trying to control that God never asked you to carry? What is this season of waiting revealing about your heart? And what would it look like to surrender the outcome to Jesus while taking the next faithful step?
When we trust God with what we cannot control, we are free to obey Him faithfully while we wait.

What is a Missional Community—and why do we care so much about them? This four-week class is designed to answer that question. Whether you’ve been invited to an MC or are simply curious about why we do them, this is a great place to start. Join us Wednesday nights beginning October 7th to explore what it looks like to follow Jesus together in everyday life. Meet at 5:30pm in the Auditorium for fellowship. Class starts at 6:00pm.
