Upcoming Sermon
What do you do when the thing in front of you really is bigger than you?
This Sunday, Pastor Mike continues After God’s Heart with one of the most familiar stories in Scripture: David and Goliath.
But this isn’t a story about believing in yourself, finding your inner strength, or becoming the hero of your own battle.
David never pretends Goliath is small. He simply refuses to treat Goliath as the biggest reality in the story.
While Israel sees an overwhelming enemy, David remembers the living God. He remembers how God has been faithful before, and then he steps forward because he knows the battle belongs to the Lord.
So what fear has become larger in your thinking than God’s faithfulness? What evidence of His past faithfulness do you need to remember? And what would courage look like if you stopped demanding control of the outcome?
Because Christian courage doesn’t begin with “I can win.”
It begins with “My King has won.”
Join us this Sunday for Faith in the Valley from 1 Samuel 17.
