Hello @first-name,
This week we are back to a regular email format of events coming up, a lesson recap, and a disciple making challenge! No Kids Connect this week.
Parent + Child Dedication
Nov 22
Our next Parent + Child Dedication is going to be held on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. This is also a Respond Service (a service filled with singing and prayer as a response to God's love and grace).
Why: At Creekside, we want to acknowledge families choosing to raise their children to know and follow Jesus.
Who: Families that want to publicly declare their intentions to raise the children in the Lord. This is not only for infants - we have also dedicated teens and all ages in between. You can also choose to dedicate each time your family grows!
Christmas Verses Recording
Nov 17, 3pm
This year, we’re excited to have Creekside kids and youth help tell the story of Jesus’ birth by reciting Scripture! We’ll edit the recordings into a video that will be shown during our Christmas Eve services.
You can watch a video from a previous year here to see what we've done in the past. If you would like your child to participate, please sign up for a time and verse below!
Lesson Recap
Aside from Christmas and Easter, this is one of the first times our adult and kids’ teachings have been focused on the same part of Scripture! Pastor Mike and our Creekside Kids teachers are all teaching through the life of King David. We’ve covered Saul and David and we’ll soon move on to Solomon.
While the adults are studying the full account of David’s life, we’re intentionally skipping the story of David and Bathsheba in our kids’ teaching. One of the beautiful things about discipling kids alongside their parents is that we don’t have to cover every story in the same way or at the same level. This gives parents the opportunity to introduce or explore certain passages with their children in a way that fits their age and maturity, answer questions that arise, and have meaningful conversations together.
We love opportunities like this to learn from God’s Word as a church family and continue those conversations at home!
Disciple Making Moment
Here at Creekside Church, we’re all about making disciples of Jesus. We want people to grow in Him and abide in Him, be transformed by Him, and be on mission with Him.
Discipleship is about more than learning about Jesus—it’s about following Him in obedience. Every disciple has been given gifts by the Lord to use in carrying out His mission, both inside and outside the walls of the church.
I’d encourage you to consider how you are serving the Lord—not just within the church, but also in your everyday life. And just as importantly, how are you encouraging others, including your children, to serve Him? One of the ways we disciple our kids is by letting them see us faithfully serve Jesus and helping them discover how they can do the same.
Most of our ministries at Creekside rely on volunteers to help carry out the work of the Gospel. Our pastoral staff provides oversight, but it takes a church family willing to use their gifts and serve alongside one another to make ministry happen.
If you aren’t serving yet at Creekside, consider this an invitation to take that next step! It doesn’t have to be with Creekside Kids (though I’d love to chat with you about it!). And look for ways your children can serve, too. Here are just some of the opportunities for the whole family to be part of what God is doing:
- Creekside Kids: Our nursery and preschool always need loving, vetted volunteers. Parents and kids can serve together! There are also opportunities throughout the year for set up and special projects.
- Welcome Ministry: They love having our mini greeters help welcome people to church. This ministry also oversees the Cafe, parking lot, and safety team -- plenty of spaces for adults to volunteer.
- Creative Arts: They’d love a few more musicians to join the team (adults only).
- Warm Up the Valley: Volunteers ages 12 and up are needed in December.
Let’s be a church family that doesn’t just learn about Jesus together, but faithfully follows Him and serves Him together! Check out the link below for more spots to serve and you can always email me to get connected to other ministry leaders!

Behind the Scenes
So many families have been blessed by our Build Her Up program for girls! This program teaches girls about their identity in Christ and how to build healthy, God-honoring relationships with others.
With its success, families have been asking about a Build Him Up class for the boys in our church—an opportunity to learn about their identity in Christ and their relationships with others. We would love to see this happen! Please join us in prayer as we explore this possibility.
While Build Her Up is part of Creekside Kids, it is spearheaded by a dedicated female volunteer who leads the development and implementation of the program. This model allows each program to have the focused leadership it needs while I continue overseeing the broader vision and direction of Creekside Kids.
Build Him Up would also be a Creekside Kids ministry, under my oversight as Director of Kids Discipleship, with a dedicated male volunteer leading the development and implementation of the program. We would love to see God raise up someone who is passionate about discipling boys in their identity in Christ and their relationships with others! Join us in that prayer! Let me know if that is you!
