Hello @first-name,
It's not Monday. Don't worry. I'm late with this email... You're week is not restarting. There are just new opportunities coming up that required a bit of extra love and time before they could be sent out to families.
Spotlight: Homeschool Co-Op
🎉 We’re doing this! Creekside Church Homeschool Co-Op is getting ready to launch! 🎉
We’ve put together a leadership team, started making plans, and we’re SO excited to get this community going!
📅 Our first session is November 2, 9, 16, and 23!
💲 Cost: Just $10 per child for the entire session!
🌟 Here’s what we’re planning:
- 🤝 Community time to connect and build friendships
- 🙌 Chapel to worship and grow in God’s Word together
- 🍎 Lunch and time to fellowship
- 🎨 Preschool and elementary offerings
- 📚 Course offerings for youth in grades 6–12
- 📝 Independent study time for all kids to work on their own schooling material with their friends close by
A few important things to know:
- At least one parent must remain on campus for the entire co-op day, regardless of the age of their students.
- Every family is expected to volunteer each time they attend. We’re building this together and everyone’s participation helps make it possible!
- Families need to be pre-registered.
- This is a supplemental/enrichment program with an emphasis on community.
We can’t wait to bring families together for learning, friendship, faith, and community.
Christmas Verses Recording
Nov 17, 3pm
This year, we’re excited to have Creekside kids and youth help tell the story of Jesus’ birth by reciting Scripture on camera! We’ll edit the recordings into a video that will be shown during our Christmas Eve services.
Time & Verse: When you sign up your child for a verse, you’re also choosing their recording time. Please sign up for as many verses as you think your child can memorize. You can watch a video from a previous year here to see what to expect.
Lesson Recap
For one of the first times, Kids are learning about the same passages as the adults on a Sunday. The adults have been studying Saul and David - a king after God's heart. This past Sunday, we taught the kids about King Saul - the first Israelite king.
Memory Verse: “We must obey God rather than people.” - Acts 5:29b
On Wednesday, we ended our discussion of the Gospel and how Jesus' sacrifice actually works. We made bracelets that help us remember the Gospel. Do your kids remember what all of the colors mean?
Holiday Resource
Creekside Kids recognizes that families may come to different convictions about Halloween and we want to support parents as they disciple their children according to those convictions.
For families who do choose to trick-or-treat, small coloring pages will be available in the Family Entrance to take home and share with your neighbors. You are welcome to take some and pair them with crayons, candy, or simply hand them out on their own.
If your family participates in trick-or-treating, you can use that opportunity to be generous, start a conversation, and share the good news of Jesus with your neighbors. One family, last year, had a prayer bucket on their porch. Kids left their prayer requests and the family prayed over their neighbors very specifically.
Families who abstain from trick-or-treating are welcome to take the coloring pages and use them in whatever way fits their family's convictions, too. The coloring page focuses on the love of Jesus and provides a simple way to share that message with others.
